The finished Bearger stands at approximately 7cm in height and 6cm in width, but may vary depending on your yarn, hook size and tension (I tend to make my plushies smaller than the average crocheter due to my strong tension).

BEARGER

This pattern is mostly worked in continuous rounds. A stitch marker to keep track of the start of each round is recommended. The numbers in the (brackets) indicate the number of stitches you should have after finishing a round/row.

ABBREVIATIONS

  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • inc = increase (single crochet twice into the same stitch)
  • dec = invisible decrease (in front loops only, single crochet two stitches together)
  • x = repeat according to the number that follows
  • ch = chain
  • slst = slip stitch

MATERIALS

To crochet bear burger, we need to prepare the following ingredients:

  • 2.75mm hook
  • Sewing thread (black)
  • 1.65mm hook
  • Large embroidery needle
  • 8ply acrylic yarn (beige, green, red, yellow, brown)
  • Sewing needle
  • Embroidery yarn (white)
  • Scissors
  • 4mm beads

Using beige:

Begin stuffing as you go.

Round 11: [3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)

Round 12: [2 sc, dec] x 6 (18)

Fasten off and sew shut.

LETTUCE

Using green:

Round 1: dc 10 into magic ring, slst (10)

Round 2: ch 2, [dc inc] x 10, slst (20)

Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.

TOMATO + BEEF

Make 1 in red and 1 in brown:

Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.

CHEESE

Using yellow, ch 11 and start in the second ch from the hook:

Using beige, do not stuff:

SNOUT

Using white embroidery yarn:

EARS

Using beige:

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Sew the snout to the bottom of the top bun. The bottom of the snout should be touching the bottom of Round 13 of the top bun.
  2. Sew both ears on the each side of the top bun.
  3. Assemble all the pieces in this order: Top bun, lettuce, tomato, cheese, beef, bottom bun.
  4. Sew the beads on each side of the snout using black sewing thread. I have sewed them between Round 12-13.
  5. Using black sewing thread, embroider the nose.
